With indoor air commonly being 100 times more polluted than outdoor air according to the EPA and with Elementary and Middle Schools having children with still developing internal organs the importance of quality filtration is paramount.
The chart to the right shows the distribution of particles in ambient air and how well filters with different MERV ratings remove those particles from the air. Because MERV-8 and MERV-11 are poor at removing the smaller more damaging particles it is generally recommended that MERV-13 level filtration be used in Educational Facilities.
