Carbon Filters, Frames, and Housings

For Odor, Gaseous, and Other Molecular Removal. Carbon, or more accurately Molecular, filtration is one of the more difficult segments of air fitlration. There are many variables to consider, and when doing a retro-fit project sometimes the choices are limited in what can be installed. This leads to most carbon projects failing, the carbon filtration being removed, and building owners and engineers forever being scorned and spiteful of Molecular filtration. However, with regulations of Ozone, NOx, and SOx getting more stringent the need to better understand and properly utilize molecular filtration is important. We can help asses your situation, determine what goals are desired compared to what is realistic, and then match the appropriate solution to your specific application. This creates the lowest chance of failure for your project. Couple that with the multiple molecular chemisits and PhD's we work with, and you'll find we have more knowledge and a success rate higher than any other company you could work with for your Molecular filtration needs.

City-Flo XL - Designed for the City Environment

The City-Flo XL was designed specifically with the city in mind. The special blend of Carbon designed by Camfil's molecular scientists to combat the common particulate and molecular pollutants in major cities. Knowing that retro-fitting existing equipment is expensive and often cost-prohibitive the City-Flo XL was also designed to be fit into existing HVAC systems and have a low enough static pressure as to not over-work them.

CamCarb Cylinders - Low Static High Carbon Concentration

CamCarb Cylinders offer an extremely high amound of carbon per 24x24 opening and low static pressures to create an effective carbon system without taxing the HVAC equipment. Available with any of Camfil's many propriatry Carbon options - specifically engineered to deliver superior results in either disposable or re-fillable cylinders.

CamCarb Cylinder Housing

A Superior filter needs a superior housing. Designed specifically to mate with the Camcarb cylidners to ensure no bypass and air is treated by the CamCarb Cylinder beds. Standard option of Aluminized or Stainless Steel construction.

CamCarb Holding Frame

Don't have the space for an additional filter housing in a carbon retro-fit, but still want to use the superior CamCarb Cylinders? No Problem, the Camcarb Holding frame is designed to be used as a built-up bank frame system to hold Camfil's Camcarb Cylinders with minimal changes to a current HVAC sytem.

CitySorb Deep Pleat

When you don't quite need the efficiency, specific carbon, or life-span of Camcarb Cylinders, the Camfil Rigi-Carb offers a low static pressure and several impregnated carbon blends to achieve 95% removal of several of the most common odor/acid/molecular pollutants. Because it is designed within an ASHRAE size frame it is also easily installed in place of current particulate filters. The Rigi-Carb is especially effective in collecting Diesel odors and common sewage/water treatment plant odors.

HEGA - High Efficiency Gaseous Adsorbtion

When the application is critical use of HEGA adsorbers is required. We have the correct Module and Housing to fit your specific application. HEGA modules are typically reserved for Bio-Safety Labs and bio-terrorism precautions.

1" Panels & Side Access Modules

These are some of the most common options for HVAC system carbon. Not quite to the levelof Cylinders, but does give decent adsorbtion at a lower price. Depending of the housing they can offer moderate to high amounts of Camfil's Campure Medias per 24x24 opening.

Side-Access Modules are another chepaer alternative to cylinders. Inherent in their design is by-pass, low contact time (or high static pressure). For how closely these cost to cylinders it's surprising anyone uses them, but they are slightly more compact and slightly less expensive. And in the world of Carbon and Molecular Filtration is not inexpensive if done correctly to deliver results.

Combination Air Filters with Carbon

Easily, these are the most common style of "carbon" or charcoal filters used. They are the biggest reason as to why molecular removal projects fail and people get the impression that "carbon filters don't work" However, if your situation is not critical, a minor nuisence, or temporary our combination particulate and carbon filter may be worth trying. Used commonly for loading dock areas and during roofing projects to help reduce the amount of fumes that enter your facility through the HVAC system.

Most combination or "charcoal pleats" have as little as 50-100 grams per square meter of carbon, We usually recommend starting at 200 grames per square FOOT - that's 20-40 times more carbon adsorbent than the most common charcoal filters.
